Mobile Children’s Museum to Visit Holdrege - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
NE150 Celebration’s “Truckin’ through Nebraska: A Mobile Children’s Museum” is visiting Holdrege, NE on its tour route through Nebraska!

Sunday, August 20
Load In: 6 strong volunteers at 3:00 pm to help unload the chase truck and set up the tents for about 1 hour.
Monday, August 21
7:30 am 2 volunteers to help set the outside exhibits for about 45 minutes.
Shift 1: 8:15 am arrival for 8:30 training. Museum opens at 9:00. Shift ends at 1:00 pm.
Shift 2: 12:15 pm arrival for 12:30 training. Shift starts at 1:00. Shift ends at 5:30 pm.
Tuesday, August 22
2:30 pm 2 volunteers to help set the outside exhibits for about 45 minutes.
Shift 3: 3:15 pm arrival for 3:30 training. Museum opens at 4:00. Shift ends at 8:00 pm.
Loud Out: 6 strong volunteers or city workers at 8:00 pm to help load the chase truck for about 1 hour.
The 53-foot expandable trailer specially designed for traveling museum exhibits will be parked at the Nebraska Prairie Museum on August 21st and 22nd. School field trips will be visiting the exhibit on Monday between 9:00 am and 2:30 pm. Public exhibit time on Monday is 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm and on Tuesday from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
It is free admission and the exhibits are intended for kids ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome and encouraged.
Interior exhibits will include areas where kids will build shelters and test them in a wind chamber or earthquake simulator, design their own 10-acre homestead, test their knowledge of Nebraska, create their own movie, explore toys from the past, craft their own postcards and more.
Exhibits will also surround the exterior of the trailer, allowing for optimal play and learning space. Those exhibits will include a timed “chore” challenge obstacle course, foam block invention area, toy creation station and more.
