    “The Enemy on the Home Front: Nebraska’s World War II Prisoner of War Camps” This presentation will examine the experience of the Federal German and Italian prisoner of war program which resulted in over 12,000 German and Italian POWs sent to Nebraska, including those at Camp Atlanta, who filled labor voids in everything from farm work to skilled labor positions such as carpenters and auto mechanics. Presenter: Mr. Cole Kruger Cole Kruger is a lecturer at the University of Nebraska and a doctoral candidate in United States history at Kansas State University.
