Utility Worker

The City of Holdrege is accepting applications for a Wastewater Department Utility Worker. Applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent, legally authorized to work in the United States and hold a current CDL, or be able to obtain one within six months of hire. Other qualifications include but are not limited to knowledge of or previous experience with municipal water and wastewater systems. The successful applicant will possess a Grade 1 Wastewater Operator License and a Grade 4 Water License or obtain those licenses within the first year of employment through employer-provided training.
Candidates for this position should enjoy working a variety of outdoor job assignments in all types of weather. A principled character and an aptitude for maintaining productive working relationships with co-workers are a must.
This position includes a 40-hour work week with the possibility of overtime on nights or weekends and a beginning salary of $16.54 to $22.57 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, health insurance, life insurance and a retirement plan.
