FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Holdrege Area Early Childhood Partnership Awards $10,000 Key for Kids Grant to Support Kiddie Cove’s Expansion Into a New Child Care Center
Holdrege, NE – The Holdrege Area Early Childhood Partnership has awarded $10,000 through its Key for Kids Grant, made possible by the community’s generous support of last year’s August 1st fundraising event, to assist Kiddie Cove Family Child Care Center as they expand from an in-home childcare program into a child care center.
This exciting transition allows Kiddie Cove Family Child Care Center to grow its capacity, welcome more families, and offer expanded early childhood learning opportunities. To support the opening of their new center, grant funds were used to help prepare an existing community building—adding bathrooms, a kitchen, and several required modifications to ensure the space met state licensing standards.
“We are excited to support Kiddie Cove during this moment of growth,” said McKenna Fahrenbruch, Executive Director. “Transforming an existing community building into a fully licensed child care center is a major step forward. With these improvements, Kiddie Cove Family Child Care Center will be able to serve more children and continue offering high-quality care to local families.”
Kendra Yanez, Director of Kiddie Cove Family Child Care Center, shared her appreciation for the community support behind the project. “Melroy’s Construction, the Ag Society, and the Holdrege Area Early Childhood Partnership have truly helped bring the concept of a ‘family’ into our childcare center. We have come together as a family to build a childcare center that is based on family values. Holdrege is a community that comes together like a family to give back and support one another. We are thankful for these funds to help us get here.”
Kiddie Cove Family Child Care Center is planning to open its doors on April 1st and is excited to welcome new families to the center. There are still some open childcare spots available, so families in need of care are encouraged to reach out for more information.
The Key for Kids Grant was created to provide timely assistance to childcare providers experiencing growth, new opportunities, or unexpected needs. By helping providers expand into safe, licensed environments, the Holdrege Area Early Childhood Partnership strengthens long-term childcare stability and availability throughout Holdrege, NE.
The partnership extends heartfelt appreciation to all donors, sponsors, and attendees of last year’s fundraising event. We are also looking forward to continuing our relationship for our next Keys for Kids event on July 31st. Your support directly benefits local childcare programs and makes meaningful community improvements possible.
