Summer Library Program Kickoff: Unearth a Story

The Holdrege Area Public Library invites the community to kick off summer by “unearthing a story” at a prehistoric-themed event on May 18th from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Inspired by this year’s Summer Library Program theme, Unearth a Story, this all-ages kickoff will feature hands-on activities, interactive learning, and family-friendly fun. Community partners including the Friends of the Library, Nebraska Prairie Museum, Phelps County 4-H Extension Office, and the YMCA will host engaging booths inside the library.

Outside, attendees can take part in exciting prehistoric adventures, create erupting volcanoes, explore a paleontological dig site, and uncover discoveries along the way.

Participants are encouraged to head inside to sign up for the full Summer Library Program lineup, with opportunities available for children, teens, and adults throughout the summer.

Please note: To allow staff adequate time to prepare for this large-scale event, the library will be open to the public from 1:00–8:00 p.m. on the day of the kickoff.

Join us as we dig into a summer full of stories, discovery, and adventure!
