FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Holdrege Area Public Library Invites Community Leaders to Help Shape the Future of a New Library
The Holdrege Area Public Library is inviting community leaders to play a vital role in one of the most significant projects in the library's history by serving on volunteer committees that will help guide the planning and fundraising efforts for a new library facility.
Following a recent community feasibility study, library leadership has begun the next phase of the project by seeking volunteers with a passion for strengthening Holdrege and Phelps County. Individuals with experience in business, fundraising, communications, marketing, event planning, finance, community engagement, or simply a desire to give back are encouraged to attend an upcoming informational meeting to learn more.
Two identical informational sessions will be offered in the Library Conference Room:
- Tuesday, July 21, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, July 23, from 6:00–8:00 p.m.
During the meetings, attendees will:
- Learn about the vision for a new Holdrege Area Public Library.
- Receive an overview of the capital campaign and volunteer committee opportunities.
- Take a guided tour of the current library facility to better understand the opportunities and challenges of the existing building.
- Have the opportunity to ask questions and determine whether committee service is the right fit.
The library's recent feasibility study confirmed that while the current library is deeply valued by the community, it no longer provides the space needed to fully support today's growing programs, services, technology, and community needs. The proposed project represents an investment in the future of Holdrege and Phelps County, creating a library that can better serve residents for generations to come.
Community members are encouraged to attend either meeting to explore ways they can become involved as a volunteer. Those who are unable to attend but would still like to learn more about serving on a committee are encouraged to contact the Steering Committee via email.
