Iron Horse Arts District Announces Open Call for Art: Autumn Colors & Light
Holdrege, Neb. – The Iron Horse Arts District is now accepting submissions for its November Pop-Up Art Gallery, inviting artists of all mediums to explore the theme “Autumn Colors & Light.” The gallery will be held in the Holdrege Area Public Library during November with an artist reception on Thursday, November 13, from 5-7pm.
Artists are encouraged to submit works that capture the brilliance of autumn—whether through bold foliage, golden light, shifting landscapes, or the quiet beauty of the season’s transitions. Submissions may include painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, textile work, and other creative expressions.
The deadline to submit is 9 p.m., Friday, October 17. Selected artists will be notified the following week.
“This pop-up series has become a meaningful way to highlight local and regional artists while bringing fresh, rotating exhibits into our community,” said Cassie Ehrenberg, Executive Director of the Iron Horse Arts District. “The theme of Autumn Colors & Light gives artists freedom to explore personal perspectives of a season everyone experiences differently.”
The Pop-Up Gallery series is part of the District’s mission to create vibrant cultural experiences, expand opportunities for artists, and strengthen Holdrege’s downtown as a destination.
Submission Details
- Theme: Autumn Colors & Light
- Deadline: Friday, October 17 at 9:00 pm
- How to Submit: Visit tinyurl.com/autumn-colors-light for guidelines and entry form
- Eligibility: Open to artists of all mediums and skill levels. Do not have to be a resident of Holdrege or Phelps County, but must be able to provide and remove artwork in person on the listed dates if selected.
