Upcoming Children's Library Programs
The regularly scheduled preschool program Stories and Science for Monday, October 20 has been cancelled. The library staff will be attending a Library In-Service day.
Preschool children who are three to five years old are invited to Stories and Science at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 27th . Stories and Science combines stories plus different STEAM activities. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. The theme for the evening will be Bats and Pumpkins. On Wednesday, October 22 and October 29 at 10:30 a.m. preschool children are welcome to attend Alphabet Soup. Participants are encouraged to bring an item whose name begins with the letter of the week. The letter of the week for October 22 will be W with the theme of Watermelon and Webs. The letter of the week for October 29 will be P with the theme of Pumpkins & Pizza.
Students who are in kindergarten through fourth grade are welcome to join the fun at Kid Zone Maker Space on Thursday, October 28 at 4:00 p.m. Special projects for the day include a Fall Density Tower and a variety of quick science projects with a Halloween theme.
Imagination Station for October features a Solar System necklace project. Children can learn the names of the planets as they create their own special necklace. The Solar System necklace project is available while supplies last.
The October Grab and Go bags are ready for pick up. The bags have puzzles and activity sheets in them and also include a craft packet. This month’s crafts are Leafy Moose Magnets or Animal Stand up Fall Scenes. Grab and Go bags are available while supplies last. Bats are flapping all over the children’s library. Find all nine bats, check them off the sheet and turn your sheet in for a small prize. This activity will be available through October 31st .
