Holiday shopping, free movies, colorful creations and a little friendly competition. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the season in Holdrege, and we’re bringing the details together to help you plan.
Holdrege for the Holidays begins November 5, with opportunities to support local businesses and enter to win SPARK Gift Cards along the way. Here’s how to participate, plus a look at other holiday activities happening around our community.
Shop, Stamp and Win
From November 5 through December 19, collect stamps when you shop at participating Holdrege for the Holidays businesses. Your completed cards become entries for a chance to win a share of $5,000 in SPARK Gift Cards, including a $1,000 top prize!
Getting started is simple:
- Pick up a card. Ask for a stamp card when you make a purchase at a participating business.
- Collect stamps. Each completed card represents $200 in purchases. You can collect stamps at different participating businesses as you fill it.
- Turn it in. Add your contact information and return your completed card to a participating business or the Chamber drop box by December 19 at 11:59 p.m.
You can complete as many cards as you’d like. Every completed card gives you another chance to win.
Think beyond your gift list, too. Everyday purchases at participating businesses can help you fill your card throughout the season.
Make Saturdays Count Twice
Every Saturday during the program is Double Stamp Saturday, starting November 7.
Purchases earn double stamps at participating stamping businesses, helping you complete your cards faster. Keep your card handy when you head out for Saturday shopping!
Enjoy Free Holiday Movies
A holiday movie on the big screen is even better when you can bring the family for free.
We’re partnering with the Holdrege Sun Theater again for the Holiday Movie Series, with local business sponsors making the free showings possible.
We appreciate the theater’s partnership each year and the sponsors who help make this a tradition our community can enjoy together.

Add Some Color to the Season
Our holiday coloring contest, presented by Stephanie Culver - Shelter Insurance, gives community members of all ages a way to join the fun.
Pick up a coloring sheet at the Chamber or participating local businesses, take it home to color and return your entry to the Chamber drop box.
SPARK Gift Card prizes will be awarded in three age groups:
- Ages 0–5: $10
- Ages 6–11: $15
- Ages 12 and older: $25
The contest runs November 5–December 19, with winners announced during the holiday drawing. Make sure your entry includes your age and contact information so we can reach you if you win.
Get Ready for Battle of the Bulbs
Our community’s holiday light contest has a new name and a new organizer!
Adorn Lighting Solutions is taking over the contest and introducing Battle of the Bulbs this holiday season. Their team will organize and run the event, carrying the tradition forward with some friendly competition.

Join Us for the Drawing
We’ll announce the Holdrege for the Holidays prize winners and coloring contest winners on Facebook Live on December 21 at 10 a.m.
Make sure your completed stamp cards and coloring entries are turned in by December 19 so they’re included.
